DATED 1902 French ANTIQUE 18k Gold Tricolor Pendant Engraved Initial Letter Love Medal Charm Belle Epoque
ABOUT:
Romantic Belle Epoque French antique pendant with hand engraving on both side. The front side has a garland of flowers on one side, a ball rivet outline and is engraved with ornate overlapping initials (E or O and T or J?) On the back it is engraved "29 Mai 1902" in French for May 29, 1902.
Such a lovey piece, I wish the date was a relevant date for me! Crafted in tricolor gold with rose and green gold detail to the flower while the piece is a rich antique warm yellow gold.
Wonderful patina with French hallmark for 18k gold.
Chain in photos is not included. Any other items shown in group photos are listed separately in the shop. Please note the measurements as I have small hands and it can be difficult to decipher scale from photos.
MEASUREMENTS:
Dimensions: 25mm (to attached loop not including jump ring) x 17mm
Weight: 1.95 grams.
IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES:
It is a thin piece with dainty hand feel.
Please also note that I take some photos / videos in the sunshine because it captures the lovely color and sparkle, but it also highlights any surface wear, scratches, abrasions, buildup or inclusions that can catch the light, making these things appear worse than they would with normal day to day wear. : ) Hopefully the pics in all lightning conditions help as they serve as part of the description.
There are no dark spots to the gold, it just sometimes reflects its surroundings.
Please note that all my pieces are pre-owned and in estate condition. They will have patina, surface wear, a few small nicks. These pieces may also have evidence of a sizing, some build up around the stones and / or inclusions seen under magnification, typical for antique pieces. I have mentioned any noticeable issues above and they are all still wearable and eager to be loved and accepted for many years to come, (the preservation of antique jewelry, even those with signs of their age and history, is important to me. : )
